It’s my 25th birthday today! To celebrate, I’m doing a blog relaunch and starting it off with a new vision and new intentions! So, let me start off by introducing you to the brand new and improved Talie Galvez! My journey to this re-launch has taken longer than I wanted it to, but it’s been well worth it.
I can honestly say, I learned a lot and this time, it just feels right.
Back in January 2017, when I first decided to take up blogging, I went in it blindly, with no direction or purpose. Well, guess what? It’s been over a year, and I’ve only accomplished to write a total of 3 blog posts. Yes, just 3. All because blogging started to feel like a chore and was not making me happy at all. It took a lot of soul searching, but I finally realized, that my blog just didn’t feel right to me. It didn’t feel authentic. It felt forced and unnatural, and just not me. I realized that I personally needed to feel like I was writing for something more. I needed a bigger reason, an inspiration. I needed it to be more purposeful. And that’s where YOU come in!
I want to write for you – people like myself, who feel the way I do. People I can connect with and relate to, people who see all the pretty girls on Instagram with the perfect feeds, wishing life was like that. I’ve learned a lot since January 2017 and thus, my vision for this blog has changed. I want to start anew, to reflect that, and to share my intentions for my new blog with you.
First off, I want my blog to be more than just a place for me to express myself in. I want it to be bigger than that. My hope is that it becomes a place of hope, positivity, empowerment and inspiration to those who also love the things I do, and then beyond that! Though it’s still a work in progress, I wanted my mission statement to reflect my personal story.
I started blogging because I wanted more in life. I wanted to live authentically, unapologetically and with a lot of passion for the things I already loved; New York living, food, travel, fashion, beauty and of course, being a nurse. For me, it wasn’t easy to put myself out there, I lacked the confidence to tell the world what I was into and how much I truly love those things.
Fashion and beauty speak to me because I love getting ready in the morning. Dressing up and putting on makeup makes me happy and helps me feel my best throughout the day. I also feel that living in New York, being a nurse, traveling and trying new foods add to my life and make for amazing authentic experiences for me. So, blogging about it through social media really helped me share that with the world. The more I shared, the more fearless I became. I started feeling inspired and empowered by the things I loved. I was living more authentically and unapologetically. My confidence increased. I felt truly myself. If my lifestyle, beauty and fashion blog can do that just for me, then I want it to do that for others too. Maybe others who may be feeling the same way I was. So here it goes, with a lot of thought, care and love for you, my mission statement is;
“I want to inspire and empower women through my lifestyle, beauty and fashion experiences, to put themselves first, and realize they have the power to feel confident in all they do, so they can live their best, unapologetic, most authentic life, doing what truly speaks to them.”
– I am excited for you to follow me on this new, exciting journey! My true wish is that my posts speak to you in the way they are intended to. They will be thoughtfully written with a lot of love, and with hope they indeed, inspire and empower you to be all you want to be, and live the life you want to live.
